They Knew

Contemplate that they knew, but they kept it to themselves, 

And worked so hard to make sure that the world didn’t know it too, what they knew they were doing to the world 

The party had to go on 

Try get your head round that they knew,  But that’s what they anyway decided to do  And they’re having children, and grandchildren, who are growing up in this world – and they knew what they were doing to this world – this world –  

This world’s a jewel, a miracle, a miracle, a miracle  Sacred system that was fashioned by the breath of life  that made a home for life 

Held their evil secret close, ne’er a whistle heard to blow
